Meet our Sweet Pea Advocate
​Irma Rompala

​Irma is our Sweet Pea Advocate for Reading, PA. She works as a medical social worker serving pediatric and adult trauma populations.

Irma is the mother of two children and is intimately familiar with Sweet Pea’s mission, as both of her children had NICU stays. Irma was on bed rest for 5 weeks before her first child, a son, was born at 30 weeks.  He spent 46 days in the NICU.  Her second child spent 3 days in NICU as a full term baby. 

Both of Irma’s pregnancies presented their own complications and emotions, yet felt so similar as both children spent their first born days in NICU. 

Irma is passionate about empowering families who have experienced a traumatic pregnancy and NICU stay. Being part of PSP is an important way for Irma to give back and provide support to our community by advocating for family’s needs and providing education where necessary.
