Why swaddle?
Swaddling, along with other positioning aids, are recognized as standard practice for neonates to help mimic a womb-like environment.¹ With SwaddlePea, parents can participate in swaddling and providing comfort for their fragile newborns as a developmentally supportive, family-centered practice to help babies and parents thrive, connect and bond.
Follow your hospital protocol for swaddling. The AAP and other sources provide references for swaddling techniques.¹²³

How SwaddlePea Came To Be
NICU grads and their siblings created drawings that were inspired by the question “What makes you happy?” Their hand-drawn hearts, kittens, families, flowers, suns and rainbows were incorporated in the SwaddlePea blanket design.
