Project Sweet Peas - Alabama
Proud Member of

Welcome! Project Sweet Peas - Alabama provides support to Neonatal Intensive Care Units throughout Alabama. We support families with a child in the NICU and families who have experienced the loss of a child. We provide care items such as NICU care packages, holiday care packages, sibling packages, bedside comfort items and memory boxes for families who have experienced a loss. Project Sweet Peas - Alabama also provides gas gift cards, food gift cards, dinner for families who are in the NICU and peer to peer support.
Since our division was founded in the summer of 2015, we have supported 10,000 families statewide. Each holiday, we send 500+ gifts to families in the NICU. We began with our first delivery in September 2015 at Huntsville Hospital for Women and Children in Huntsville, Alabama. Since then, we have expanded to serve 15 hospitals in Alabama. Our goal is to provide support to every NICU in Alabama.
In 2021, Project Sweet Peas- Alabama was able to expand our services to one hospital in Panama City, FL, with the help of Mandy Booth and Gretchen Wheeler NNP-BC. Mandy is the Southern Alabama Ambassador for Project Sweet Peas- Alabama. Gretchen is a long time supportor of Project Sweet Peas. She is also one of the incredible NICU nurses that took care of Braelyn, our division inspiration, while he was in the NICU for 117 days.
Our annual fundraiser, Project Sweet Peas Gala, is a black tie gala with dinner and entertainment. It is hosted in April in Huntsville, Alabama.
If you are on a journey through the NICU or if you have lost a child please do not hesitate to contact us for support.
