Project Sweet Peas’ Family Grant Eligibility FAQ
Who is eligible to receive assistance from Project Sweet Peas?
-
You must currently have an infant(s) receiving inpatient care in a United States Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Special Care Unit, or Specialty Pediatric Hospital.
-
Your infant(s) must have been in inpatient care longer than two weeks.
-
You must have full legal custody of the infant.
Is there an age restriction to apply?
Parents must be over the age of 18 and the infant(s) must be under one year of age.
What bills or costs can be covered?
Funds may be used for expenses incurred during a child's stay in the NICU. Please note that current awards are limited to $100 per family/per year.
Is every application approved?
No, due to limited funding we are unable to honor every request. Assistance will be randomly awarded to those who meet the qualification requirements.
How long before I hear about my submission?
We review applications as quickly as possible, but due to the volume of requests, please allow up to 3 weeks for a response.
If selected, how will I receive the funds?
Once approved, you’ll receive an email from Project Sweet Peas (via Tremendous) with a secure link to claim your $100.
You’ll be able to choose the option that works best for you:
-
Direct payout (Venmo, PayPal, bank transfer, or Cash App)
-
Digital or physical Visa card, or select gas and food gift cards
All funds are distributed through Tremendous.com, and you’ll make your selection when redeeming your link.
How often can I apply to receive funds?
If your eligible application was not selected and you are still in the NICU, you will be invited to reapply during the next award period.
If you have previously been awarded a grant, you must wait one calendar year before being eligible to submit another request.
Before proceeding to the application, please make sure you have:
-
Read the eligibility FAQs above
-
A valid driver's license or state-issued ID
Verification Photo Requirement:
You must upload one unedited photo of your ID placed next to your infant, with both visible in the same photo at the same time.
-
This can be taken next to an isolette or crib
-
Your baby's face may be covered if you prefer
-
This photo is used for verification purposes only and will not be shared
Important:
-
We cannot accept separate photos, edited images, or combined/photoshopped images
-
If your infant absolutely cannot be included, email foodandfuel@projectsweetpeas.com for alternative verification process information
Please note:
Applications submitted without the proper verification photo, or with suspected editing or tampering, will be automatically denied.
If you have specific questions regarding the application process, please email us at FoodandFuel@ProjectSweetPeas.com.
