Handmade Baby Hats

Handmade hats are used in many kits and care packages that Project Sweet Peas provides for infants in NICUs across the country, and are always in need of knit, crocheted, or even fabric sewn hats!

Here are some details to note should you wish to provide a donation of handmade hats:
  • All yarn should be soft, baby/sports weight yarn in gender-neutral colors - Green is our favorite!
  • Knit/crochet hats should not have any "holes" in the pattern that little hands/feet could get caught in
  • Embellishments, if any, should be soft and sewn on, not glued, or securely tied for safety
  • Preemie and Newborn sizes are most needed​

    • Hats that have a decent amount of stretch to them are ideal, like this: Bev's Baby Ribs Pattern (bevscountrycottage.com)

Yarn and finished items should be kept away from pets and must be from a smoke-free environment.
